Interpretive Artwork

Mary’s artwork has a defined purpose when the Forest Service is in need of a visual solution to an interpretive problem. To interpret, or explain and communicate, nature or natural phenomena, Mary often does in-depth research beyond just observation to bring understanding to trail signage, visitor center displays and brochures. She also creates colorful user-friendly maps that allow visitors to negotiate local sites on their own.
